Hackwood Primary Academy provides all of its pupils with equal access to a rich, broad and balanced curriculum matched well to pupils’ ages, abilities, interests, aptitudes and special needs.
We aim for all our pupils to be PROUD learners. PROUD represents the golden thread of our curriculum from EYFS all the way through to our oldest children so they are ready for the next stage of their life; P-Pride in learning, R-Reading, O-Oracy, U-Understanding myself as a self-led learner, D-Drive and determination. Our curriculum has been designed for Hackwood children and aligns to the Harmony Trust's Great Place to Learn Statement to ensure all our children BELIEVE, ACHIEVE and SUCCEED.
We follow the National curriculum to ensure coverage of content. Our curriculum subjects are often linked through topics and enriched with quality texts and exciting experiences within and beyond school. Please see the documents below for our topics overviews.
The Harmony Pledge is embedded throughout our curriculum to support children's character development through the character competencies as well as the 10 point Pledge. To find out more please click on this link: https://www.theharmonytrust.org/page/the-harmony-pledge/62831
Curriculum leadership is through curriculum teams and more details of the intent of our curriculum design can be found in the curriculum area documents below as well as the specific subject tabs, in addition to the information on the class pages.
